What is “Pressure Point Fascia Techniques” or “Rolling Out”?

What is “Rolling Out”?

Rolling Out is stretching muscles, and tendons and releasing the myofascial system with the help of a foam roller.

What is the myofascial system?

Together muscle and fascia make up the myofascial system. All the muscles in the body are connected by fascia which surrounds the tissues, nerves, organs and all other structures in the body. The fascia can become unhealthy by injury, overuse, or even by everyday repetitive movement.

Why is Rolling Out so important?

For various reasons — such as inactivity, inflexibility or previous injuries — the fascia and underlying muscle tissue can bind together causing ‘knots’ or ‘trigger points.’ The knots restrict muscle movement, cause pain and reduce flexibility.

Foam rolling serves to keep fascia healthy by circulating fresh oxygenated blood through it. The healthier the fascia, the better you move.

What are the benefits of Rolling Out?

Ultimately foam rolling can help to:

  • Diminish aches and pains
  • Increase flexibility
  • Increase range of motion
  • Enhance performance
  • Accelerate workout recovery

How often should you Roll Out?

Rolling Out is recommended at least 3 times a week. Rolling Out on a regular basis is key to obtaining to the benefits of myofascial release.
